Join the NCLA Pop Culture Committee for a Guided Tour of the Superheroes in Gotham exhibit at the New-York Historical Society!

Location: 170 Central Park West at Richard Gilder Way (77th Street), New York, NY 10024

Superheroes in Gotham will tell the story comic book superheroes in New York City; the leap of superheroes from the page into radio, television, and film; the role of fandom, including the yearly mega event known as New York Comic Con; and the ways in which classic comic book superheroes have inspired and influenced the work of contemporary comic book artists, cartoonists, and painters in New York City.

Highlights of the exhibit include:

  • A rare comic book featuring Superman’s first appearance
  • Original drawings of Spider-Man’s first appearance
  • Batmobile from the 1966 Batman television series
  • Costumes from Broadway’sSpider-Man: Turn off the Dark

Admission: $23

Includes general admission into the New-York Historical Society Museum and Library, a private tour of the Superheroes in Gotham exhibit, a 10% discount off in the Museum Store, and access to the 18-minute film New York Story.
