What Every Librarian Should Know About Suicide Prevention: Join us for an interactive and informative presentation given by Max Banilivy, Ph.D on this very timely topic. With the Netflix series, Thirteen Reasons Why, shedding new light on teen suicide, it’s important for teen-services Librarians to be aware of ways to identify at-risk teens and learn the steps to take to connect teens with suicide prevention resources.
Dr. Banilivy is a clinical psychologist and the director of clinical training, education and field placement at WellLife Network and is a member of the Executive Committee of Suicide Prevention Coalition of Long Island.
Handouts and resources will be provided.
We will also be raffling off a gift card for anyone who joins or renews YASD 2018 membership at the December Brunch!
