NCLA is looking for a liaison to LILRC!

NCLA is looking for an enthusiastic individual interested in being our liaison to LILRC. The primary responsibility of the liaison is to work closely with LILRC to organize the Advocacy Day bus. Advocacy Day is one of the most important events of year, and without transportation we can’t ensure a critical mass of librarians on site in Albany, to make our voices heard and make sure our libraries are funded.

The liaison also assists LILRC in planning the Legislative Breakfast, which is held in the fall and represents another opportunity for us to speak with our local representatives about issues facing libraries, as well as show our appreciation for their support. This is important work at a time when we desperately need to strengthen relationships with our elected officials and restore the critical funding necessary for Nassau libraries to serve our communities (not to mention, it’s also a great way to show professional involvement on the Civil Service exam!).

Please consider helping out! Feel free to reach out with questions or to throw your proverbial hat into the ring.

Thanks in advance,
Valerie Acklin
NCLA President
