The purpose of the Long Island Library Pride Alliance (LILPA) is to provide LGBTQIA+ information, services, and materials to both library professionals and users of libraries on Long Island by:
- Ensuring the Long Island libraries have the resources necessary to meet the needs of queer patrons and staff members
- Providing a forum for discussion, as well as an environment for advocacy and education, regarding the needs of queer library workers and the queer community at large
- Providing support for free and open access to information, without censorship, for all queer individuals and their allies

There are several new additions to our website and programming that we are excited to share about!
- Use our website’s Queer Resources page to find local and national resources, book lists, and more!
- LILPA has a virtual reference desk! Have questions regarding queer books, vocabulary, resources, or programs? Need help or looking for an online community to connect with? Submit a question to the LILPA Reference Desk.
- Check out our merch page, all created by fellow LILPA co-chairs!
Interested in joining LILPA or know someone who is? Joining LILPA is simple: be a member of either NCLA or SCLA and complete our Membership Form with your name, email, and library!
