Who We Are
The Media Division of NCLA was formed in January, 1989. The division was created to meet the needs of audiovisual librarians and library professionals whose daily concerns deal with non-print formats, such as: audio cassettes, compact discs, dvd’s, cd-roms, films (16 mm), microfilm, microfiche, phonograph records and possible other formats.
What do we do?
We are comprised of member Media Librarians from Nassau County with diverse backgrounds in public, school, academic and special libraries. We serve as a support group for audiovisual librarians and a clearinghouse of information about concerns, problems, questions and solutions dealing with audiovisual formats and technology.
